In the world of energy healing, few concepts are as foundational—and transformative—as the chakras. These seven spinning wheels of energy are the gateways between our physical, emotional, and spiritual selves. When they are open, balanced, and aligned, we experience a greater sense of peace, vitality, clarity, and connection.
In this post, I’ll introduce you to each of the seven main chakras—what they represent, how they affect your life, and signs of imbalance. Whether you're new to energy work or looking to deepen your understanding, connecting with your chakras can help you awaken your innate healing power.
1. Root Chakra – Muladhara
Location:Â Base of the spine
Color:Â Red
Element:Â Earth
Affirmation:Â I am safe. I am grounded.
The Root Chakra governs our sense of safety, survival, and belonging. It’s the foundation of the chakra system and relates to our connection to the Earth, family, and physical needs.
When balanced:Â You feel grounded, secure, and present.
When imbalanced:Â You may experience fear, anxiety, financial instability, or disconnection from the body.
2. Sacral Chakra – Svadhisthana
Location:Â Below the navel, in the lower abdomen
Color:Â Orange
Element:Â Water
Affirmation:Â I honor my emotions. I allow pleasure and creativity.
The Sacral Chakra is the center of creativity, sensuality, pleasure, and emotional flow. It supports healthy boundaries, passion, and enjoyment of life.
When balanced:Â You feel emotionally open, creatively inspired, and connected to your desires.
When imbalanced:Â You may experience guilt, repression, emotional numbness, or creative blocks.
3. Solar Plexus Chakra – Manipura
Location:Â Upper abdomen, around the stomach
Color:Â Yellow
Element:Â Fire
Affirmation:Â I am confident. I stand in my power.
This chakra governs your personal power, self-esteem, and will. It’s your inner fire—the force behind your drive, identity, and ability to take action.
When balanced:Â You feel confident, self-assured, and motivated.
When imbalanced:Â You may struggle with low self-worth, indecision, anger, or control issues.
4. Heart Chakra – Anahata
Location:Â Center of the chest
Color:Â Green (sometimes pink)
Element:Â Air
Affirmation:Â I am love. I forgive. I open my heart to life.
The Heart Chakra bridges the lower and upper chakras, integrating body and spirit through love, compassion, and connection.
When balanced:Â You radiate warmth, empathy, and emotional openness.
When imbalanced:Â You may feel grief, resentment, loneliness, or struggle with trust.
5. Throat Chakra – Vishuddha
Location:Â Throat
Color:Â Blue
Element:Â Ether (Space)
Affirmation:Â I express my truth clearly and lovingly.
The Throat Chakra governs communication, self-expression, and authenticity. It also supports listening deeply—to yourself and others.
When balanced:Â You express yourself clearly and honestly.
When imbalanced:Â You may have difficulty speaking your truth, feel unheard, or experience throat tension or blockages.
6. Third Eye Chakra – Ajna
Location:Â Between the eyebrows
Color:Â Indigo
Element:Â Light
Affirmation:Â I trust my intuition. I see with clarity.
This chakra is the center of your inner vision, intuition, and higher wisdom. It invites you to trust what can’t always be seen with the eyes.
When balanced:Â You feel intuitive, insightful, and mentally clear.
When imbalanced:Â You may feel mentally foggy, disconnected from your intuition, or overly skeptical or fantasizing.
7. Crown Chakra – Sahasrara
Location:Â Top of the head
Color:Â Violet or White
Element:Â Divine consciousness
Affirmation:Â I am connected to the Divine. I am one with all that is.
The Crown Chakra connects you to Spirit, your higher self, and universal consciousness. It represents spiritual awakening and the understanding of our divine nature.
When balanced:Â You feel deeply connected, spiritually aligned, and guided.
When imbalanced:Â You may feel disconnected from purpose, spiritually confused, or closed off to the sacred.
✨ Bringing It All Together
The chakra system is like a symphony of energy centers—each one playing its unique note, but all part of the same song. When even one chakra is blocked or overactive, it can create disharmony. But the beautiful part is this: your energy system is always seeking balance—and you have the power to support that balance through intention, breath, movement, sound, and stillness.
I invite you to begin (or deepen) your relationship with your chakras through meditation, healing sessions, journaling, or simply bringing awareness to where your energy is flowing—and where it may want more love. If you’d like to explore chakra healing in depth, I’d love to support you through distance energy healing sessions or personalized guidance. I also offer group distance healing sessions at the New and Full Moons. Feel free to reach out or explore my offerings.
